CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – A cherished Champaign-Urbana tradition is coming back later this month.
CU Days, a free event with vendors, entertainment, family-friendly activities, and food trucks, will be back at Douglass Park from August 8-10. This year’s event will be three days full of community and celebration, bringing residents together for fun, family, and fellowship.
Celebrations on August 8 will run from 5 to 8 p.m., August 9 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and August 10 from 1 to 6 p.m.
The City of Champaign’s Equity and Engagement Department is partnering with CU Days to give back to the community by distributing free school supplies to support students as they prepare to head back to school. Families can stop by the city’s table to pick up essential items like notebooks, pencils, and more.
The Planning and Development Department will also be at CU Days to engage with community members about the future of Downtown Champaign. Attendees will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the draft guiding principles and strategies for the new Downtown Plan. This is a valuable opportunity for residents to have their voices heard and shape the long-term vision of downtown Champaign.
Whether you’re a longtime resident or just moved into the area, CU Days offers a warm, welcoming space to connect with neighbors, learn about community services, and celebrate what makes Champaign-Urbana a vibrant place to live. CU Days is free and open to the public.
