SAVOY, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A beloved local business is preparing to close its doors for good this weekend. Industrial Donut, a staple in the Savoy community for more than six years, announced on Wednesday that Saturday, August 23, will be its final day of operation.
In a heartfelt statement, the owners cited rising operational costs, declining sales, and increasing pressure from national chains as key factors behind the decision to shut down. “This decision hasn’t come easy. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced mounting challenges,” the statement read. “Despite our passion and dedication, the numbers have simply become too hard to overcome.”

The donut shop is encouraging customers who hold gift cards, loyalty points, tokens, or vouchers to redeem them before the end of the week. As inventory winds down, offerings will be limited, and restocking will not occur. However, all existing orders will still be fulfilled.
The owners expressed gratitude for the community’s support and for their dedicated staff. “As we begin this next chapter and focus on the well-being of our family, we ask for your understanding and grace,” the statement continued. “Closing this business is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made, but we believe it’s the right one for our future.”
Industrial Donut’s closure follows the June shutdown of Pandamonium Doughnuts in Champaign, another popular local donut shop that had been in business for 12 years.
