CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Champaign Police responded to a bank robbery on the 1000 block of South Neil Street at 11:09 a.m. on September 24, 2025. According to police, a suspect entered the bank, damaged security glass while demanding money, and threatened staff before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported, and officers confirmed no firearm was displayed or discharged during the incident. Police immediately searched the area and continue to canvass for witnesses and video footage to aid their investigation.

Authorities are asking residents and businesses in the vicinity with surveillance cameras to review their footage and contact the police department if they see anything that could assist. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
