URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Saturday, October 18th, portions of Downtown Urbana will be closed for the “No Kings Day of Action,” a special event organized by Champaign County Indivisible. The Urbana Public Works Department has approved a Special Event Permit for the demonstration, which will feature a march and various activities.

Main Street, between Broadway Avenue and Vine Street, will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accommodate the event. The march, scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m., will travel through several streets, beginning at East Main Street and Broadway Avenue. The route includes Broadway Avenue, East Elm Street, South Vine Street, and several other streets before concluding back at East Main and Broadway.

Motorists are urged to expect delays and seek alternate routes. Northbound traffic on South Vine Street and eastbound traffic on East Illinois Street will be maintained during the march.
