Reporter

llini Radio Group in Champaign is looking for an eager, entry-level journalist with strong digital and social media skills to report on and produce content for the startup website Chambanatoday dot com. The reporter must reside in the Champaign Urbana area.

Typical duties will include:

  • Reporting and writing about 1 feature story/week, with photos.
  • Uploading community news releases and obituaries.
  • Managing website and Facebook/social content.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in Journalism, Communication, or related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience with multimeida storytelling (photo, video, ect.) is a plus.
  • A willingness to learn and grow through constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Peolple-focused and community-oriented.
  • Familiarity with the Champaign-Urbana community and surrounding areas.
  • Teamwork skills for effective work in a collaborative, supportive environment.
  • Reliable transportation.
