CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Literary Book Bar, located at 122 N. Neil Street, will host a special Black History Month reading on Saturday, February 7th at 5 p.m., featuring acclaimed Black writers from Chicago and Champaign. The event is free and open to the public.

Headlining the evening is I.S. Jones, whose debut poetry collection, Bloodmercy, was named one of The New York Times Best Poetry Books of 2025. She will be joined by Grayson Thompson, Hollis Toussaint Druhet, and James Stewart III, each bringing a unique voice that explores themes of grief, joy, lineage, survival, and community.

Presented by the literary collective Exhibit B, the reading aims to honor the creativity, resilience, and power of Black storytelling across generations. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear dynamic performances, engage with the writers, and celebrate the rich diversity of Black literature.
