DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — The Vermilion Advantage Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Amy Susan Brown as the organization’s new president and chief executive officer.
Brown will officially begin her role on June 3, bringing more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, economic development and community engagement.
Throughout her career, Brown has held leadership positions with several organizations, including the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club, CRIS Healthy Aging and CRIS Transit. She also served as the founding CEO of Project Success Serving Vermilion County Schools, working with the original board of directors to grow the organization into a resource for K-12 students across 12 school districts.
Her work has focused on securing sustainable funding, launching innovative programs and building partnerships that support economic growth and community impact.
“Amy’s proven strategic leadership, community relationships and commitment to improving the economic climate and lives of Vermilion County citizens make her an excellent choice to guide this organization,” said Gary Tucker, chair of the Vermilion Advantage Board of Directors. “We are confident she will continue to advance our vision to build community and create opportunity.”
Brown said returning to Vermilion County is especially meaningful after spending time working in Springfield and three years in the Champaign-Urbana area.
“I am deeply honored to be appointed as the next president and CEO of Vermilion Advantage,” Brown said. “This community has always held a special place in my heart, and I am excited to work alongside the board of directors and team at Vermilion Advantage to build on its solid foundation.”
Brown said her priorities will include fostering economic growth, supporting workforce development and creating opportunities for both businesses and residents in the county.
A Vermilion County native, Brown said she looks forward to collaborating with community partners to help ensure a vibrant and prosperous future for the region.
