CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Get ready for another exciting production at Hessel Park!
The promoters of Pygmalion have teamed up with the Champaign Park District to bring you The Illiac, a spectacular event set to take place in Hessel Park on Saturday, July 13th, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This year’s lineup is nothing short of extraordinary. The event will feature Sinfonia da Camera, the resident professional chamber orchestra at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Joining them will be internationally acclaimed jazz musician and composer Marquis Hill, along with the vibrant Brazilian drum ensemble Bloco Gavião.
This free performance invites all community members to bask in the summer evening sky at the historic Hessel Park. Feel free to bring a picnic or indulge in the delicious offerings from onsite food trucks. Art Mart will also be present, serving a curated selection of wines and beers for patrons to enjoy.
The event is made possible through the collaboration of several partners, including the Champaign Park District, Pygmalion, the College of Fine + Applied Arts at the University of Illinois, and Busey Bank.
