Larry Lambright Obituary
Larry Galen Lambright, 81, of Mahomet passed away at home on Friday, February 2, 2024.
There will be a visitation at New Beginnings Lutheran Church, 304 E. Dunbar, Mahomet on Thursday, February 8 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. The memorial service will begin at 3:00pm. Burial will be private. Blair-Owens Funeral Home in Mahomet is assisting the family with arrangements.
Larry was born on March 7, 1942 in St. Joseph, MO, to the late Donnie Marriott (Burnett) Lambright and Cecil Galen Burnett. Larry’s father, Cecil, was killed in battle during WWII and he was raised by his stepfather, Robert Lambright.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane (Ennen) Lambright; sons, Larry Lambright, Jr and Scott Lambright; 3 grandchildren, Marya (Kyle) Fenton, Brittany and Jacob Lambright; as well as 2 great grandchildren, Hadley and Lily Fenton.
Larry started his career and became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and International Monetary Market. After moving to the Champaign-Urbana area, he worked in computer sales and manufactured home sales. In his retirement, Larry’s favorite job was driving a school bus for the Mahomet-Seymour School District.
Larry was a proud Eagle Scout and Boy Scout Leader. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking, leaving behind many memories for his family to cherish.
Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Lutheran Church; Carle Hospice; American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
