URBANA, IL (Chambana, IL) – Curbside and multifamily U-Cycle collection services will not occur the week of August 12, due to contractual obligations not met by the U-Cycle contractor. All U-Cycle collection services will be delayed until further notice.
In the meantime, residents may bring recycling to a recycling center drop-off location operated by Illini Recycling at 420 Paul Ave., in Champaign. Recycling must be separated into specific material types at the facility. The materials accepted at the recycling center: include cardboard, magazines, newspaper, office paper, #1-7 plastic food and beverage bottles/containers, tin food containers, aluminum cans, and aluminum foil and pans. No glass or plastic bags are accepted. The recycling center is open 24-hours. Residents may also place recyclables in their garbage until service is resumed.
Updates on U-Cycle service will be posted as they become available on the City of Urbana’s website, urbanaillinois.us, through the City’s social media accounts, and via phone at (217) 384-2302.
