URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — Cunningham Children’s Home has launched its HOPE Improvement campaign to update dining rooms, critical spaces where youth gather for meals, social interaction, and emotional support. The campaign has already raised $17,236 thanks to contributions totaling $8,618 and a matching gift challenge from Lurinda and Larry Venezia.
Staff members report that these spaces are vital for youth development, offering a calm environment to connect with peers and mentors. Justin, a medical liaison at the home, cited the example of 15-year-old Jordan, who has grown more comfortable with in-person social interaction thanks to the dining room’s supportive environment.
The campaign aims to provide updated furnishings and a more therapeutic atmosphere, helping residents thrive both socially and emotionally. Donations to the HOPE Improvement campaign are doubled while funds remain in the Venezia matching challenge, giving contributors the opportunity to maximize their impact.
