CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Family Service of Champaign County is inviting community members to attend a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Workshop on June 18 at the Champaign Public Library.

The free event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include presentations from several organizations focused on mental health, suicide prevention, and veteran support services.

According to promotional materials, featured sessions will include presentations from the following:

  • 9:35-10:25 am – Jamie Boone Project Presentation
  • 10:35-11:25 am – Diane Fall Presentation
  • 11:55-12:45 pm – NAMI Ending the Silence
  • 12:55-1:45 pm – SAVE: Training Veteran Suicide Prevention.

Organizers say the workshop is designed to raise awareness about suicide prevention, connect residents with resources, and encourage open conversations surrounding mental health.
