CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, IL (Chambana Today) — Dustin Heuerman has been appointed by J. B. Pritzker to serve on two statewide boards focused on law enforcement training and criminal justice policy.
According to a news release from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, Heuerman has been appointed to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. His appointment to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is pending confirmation by the Illinois Senate.
The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board is responsible for promoting and maintaining professional standards for law enforcement and correctional officers throughout the state.
The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority works to improve the administration of criminal justice and promote an efficient, effective and equitable criminal justice system in Illinois.
Heuerman said he looks forward to using his education, experience and perspective to collaborate with others who share a commitment to improving the criminal justice system at both the local and state levels.
Both appointments took effect immediately.
