CHAMPAIGN, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY) — Illinois women’s basketball will play its first-round matchup of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament against Missouri State at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 21.

The Fighting Illini, a No. 4 seed in the WBIT, is one of 32 teams in the event and one of 16 host sites for the first round of the inaugural WBIT.

Illinois and Missouri State will square off for the fourth time, with the Illini holding a 2-1 all-time record in the series. The teams last met in 2010, when the Lady Bears hosted the Illini in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Illinois won the contest, 65-53.
