CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The University of Illinois men’s golf team, led by head coach Mike Small, has revealed its fall 2024 schedule.

September Events:

The season kicks off on September 9-11 with the Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan. This event is co-hosted by Folds of Honor, Michigan State, Florida State, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), and HNS Sports Group.

Following the opening event, the team will host the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Illinois, from September 15-17. This tournament will feature 14 top-tier teams on the Par-70, 7,310-yard North Course.

To conclude September, the team will participate in the Windon Memorial Classic at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois, on September 29-30. This event is hosted by Northwestern.

October Events:

The Illini face two new challenges along the Gulf Coast. First, they will compete in the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, co-hosted by Southern Miss and Ole Miss at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino’s Fallen Oak Course from October 19-21.

Rounding out the fall schedule, the Illini will travel to Loxley, Alabama, for the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, hosted by South Alabama at Steelwood Country Club from October 26-27.

Spring:

Details of the spring schedule will be announced later. Under Coach Small’s guidance, the program aims to secure its 14th Big Ten Championship. Last spring, Illinois earned the NCAA Stanford Regional title and achieved its ninth top five national finish since 2011.
