CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, IL – (Chambana Today) – The City of Champaign is hosting Welcoming Week from September 13-22. The celebration, in partnership with the New American Welcome Center, celebrates diversity, culture, and community.
The festivities kick off on September 13, from 6-8 p.m., at Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. The events include storytelling, music, dance, and food.
Welcoming Week is a nationwide movement that champions inclusion and embraces the valuable contributions of immigrants. With more than 25,000 foreign-born residents in Champaign County, this week is a chance to celebrate that diversity.
