CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois Quarterback Luke Altmyer was added to the Manning Award 2024 Watch List today. The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of the Manning family – Archie, Peyton, and Eli. The college football season started with 29 quarterbacks on its preseason watch list.
Finalists for the honor will be determined by a panel of national media members who cover college football, as well as each of the Mannings. The finalist list will be released on Thursday, December 5, and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Altmyer has carried his team to a 6-1 record on the season, with 15 touchdown passes and only one interception. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is the best in the nation among Power 4 quarterbacks.
