CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois men’s basketball forward Will Riley is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the beginning of the 2024-25 season.
Riley broke the Illinois freshman debut scoring record last Monday, adding 31 points on 10-for-13 shooting, including 5-for-6 on 3-pointers. It was the first 30-point game by an Illini freshman in a debut. Riley added seven rebounds and three assists vs. EIU. He scored 14 points in the team’s win on Friday against SIU Edwardsville.
The Fighting Illini are hosting Oakland at the State Farm Center on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
