SAVOY, IL (Chambana Today) – There are three different projects in the planning stages at Willard Airport in Savoy. The Commercial Airline Terminal Rehabilitation Project will replace two roof sections and two escalators, and repair worn-out pavement on aviation aprons where the planes are parked, serviced, and boarded. The entrance road and parking lot project will gain asphalt paving for both employee parking and the entrance to the lot.
The new employee entrance road will cost $500,000 and the apron project will cost $1.5 million. Both are expected to begin next year.
Airport officials say construction on these projects will not impact public travel. If the public wishes to give feedback, they can access a form on the airport’s website.
