CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois football team secured a 38-31 comeback victory over Rutgers on Saturday, led by Pat Bryant’s 40-yard touchdown with four seconds left in the game.
Bryant recorded a career-high 197 receiving yards on seven catches, including 166 yards in the second half and 140 in the fourth quarter. His 64-yard reception in the third quarter was another career milestone. Bryant now leads the nation with three game-winning touchdowns in the final minute or overtime this season.
Altmyer threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns while adding 74 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Illinois concludes its regular season next week against Northwestern at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The annual battle for the Land of Lincoln Trophy kicks off at 11 a.m.
