CHAMPAIGN IL, (CHAMBANA TODAY)- An investigation into a death has been initiated by the University of Illinois Police Department following the discovery of a deceased individual in an apartment building near campus on Sunday. According to Pat Wade, a UIPD spokesperson, the individual was found in a public restroom within The Hub, situated at Sixth and Daniel Streets. Initial findings indicate that the individual’s passing may have been a result of suicide, with no indications of a broader danger to the campus community. The UIPD, along with the Illinois State Police and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office, are conducting the investigation.
