(CHAMPAIGN, IL) – A section of I-57 northbound was shut down Monday morning after a pickup truck crossed the median and collided with a semi-truck, according to Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:52 a.m. near milepost 236. Preliminary investigations revealed that a white pickup truck was traveling southbound on I-57 when it crossed into the northbound lanes, striking a semi-truck. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
One northbound lane of I-57 remains closed while authorities work to clean up the accident.
