URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – An updated release from authorities regarding the tragic crash on University Avenue and Coler Avenue in Urbana on January 19, 2025, reveals new details about the suspect involved in the fatal incident. Initially identified under the alias Juan JaHaziel Saenz-Suarez, the suspect has now been correctly identified as Julio Cucul Bol, a 29-year-old citizen of Guatemala.

Following further investigation, authorities discovered that the suspect had been using falsified Mexican documentation. Investigators were able to confirm his true identity after Julio Cucul Bol admitted to his real name. The change in identity has prompted new charges and the issuance of a revised arrest warrant for the suspect.

Champaign County State’s Attorney Julia Rietz has been notified of the updated details, which have led to amended charges for the suspect. Julio Cucul Bol now faces two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash Resulting in Death, two counts of Reckless Homicide, and Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Resulting in Death.

The crash, which occurred at 1:55 AM on January 19, took the life of two individuals and authorities continue to investigate the incident thoroughly. As this investigation unfolds, authorities urge anyone with additional information regarding the crash to come forward.
