CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Illinois defensive lineman Pat Farrell will take the spotlight at Rate Field tonight when he throws out the ceremonial first pitch during Chicago White Sox Illini Night.
Farrell, a Chicagoland native and member of the Illinois Fighting Illini football team, will participate in the pregame ceremony ahead of the White Sox matchup against the Minnesota Twins, scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
The event is part of the annual Illini Night celebration hosted by the Chicago White Sox, which brings together fans of Illinois athletics and Chicago baseball for a themed game experience at Rate Field.
In addition to Farrell’s first pitch, teammates Andre Lovett and TJ McMillen are scheduled to sign autographs for fans with special Illini Night tickets prior to the game. The autograph session will take place near Section 160 in left field on the stadium concourse.
Ticket packages for Illini Night include a White Sox/Illini quarter zip pullover and early access to batting practice. Fans opting for the upgraded patio package will also receive two hours of all-you-can-eat and drink service before the game.
Group tickets and party area options remain available through the White Sox ticket office for fans interested in attending the themed event.
