DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A Danville juvenile was recently arrested for firearm possession.

On Wednesday, February 19 at around 10:15 p.m., Danville Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting suspicious activity in the Holiday Hills area. This was located around the 900 block of Timberline Drive and it observed that juveniles were trying to break into cars. Officers then arrived and encountered two juveniles matching the caller’s descriptions and one was discovered to be in possession of a loaded firearm. The possessor was a 17-year-old who was promptly arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center.

He was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and will remain in custody until his hearing. The Danville Police Department emphasizes that all individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
