DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – The Nashville Sports Council and ESPN Events announced the Fighting Illini as participants in the inaugural Broadway Block Party Tournament.
The tournament takes places on August 31, 2025 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Tennesse. This will mark the first women’s collegiate volleyball tournament in Bridgestone Arena. As the third match of the day, the Fighting Illini will be going up against Vanderbilt with the Commodores as opening for their historic inaugural season. The battle will be broadcast nationally on the SEC Network.
Purdue and Nebraska will also be in attendance. The 2025 slate will be the ninth season under head coach Chris Tamas. Tamas owns a 149-94 mark at the helm, including five NCAA Tournament appearances.
