SPRINGFIELD (Chambana Today) – The 2025 Illinois State Archery Tournament is scheduled for March 22 in Mattoon.

The tournament will be located at the Emerald Sports Complex in Mattoon and highlights the dedication and skill of our Illinois student archers across the state. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) partnered with the National Archery to provide 12 $1,000 scholarships at the tournament. The scholarships recognize dedication, skill, and academic achievements of these bright, young student archers.

“The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is proud to be among the first 10 states that registered to participate in the National Archery in the Schools Program,” said IDNR Director Natalie Phelps Finnie. “We recognized early on that archery offers a special opportunity to reach young people, build their confidence, and encourage them to get outdoors and have fun.”

On top of this, Danville High School will be hosting an International Bowhunting Organization (IBO 3-D) archery tournament event on Saturday, April 5. Four $1,000 scholarships will also be awarded to outstanding participants.
