CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Film Champaign-Urbana will be hosting a workshop focused on casting.
This workshop, a part of Experience Champaign-Urbana, will be the fourth in a series of film workshops. “So You Want to be in a Film Cast?” will take place on March 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Phillips Recreation Center in Urbana. It will be co-hosted with Bokeh Background Casting and Flyover Film Studios. The workshop will go over how productions work to recruit background actors.
“We are thrilled to be part of this presentation by Sarah Cayce as we continue with our educational series on all things surrounding filmmaking,” says Jen Shelby, co-owner of Flyover Film Studios. “Sarah is one of our partners in the casting and coaching world of film and brings unbridled enthusiasm to everything she does. For those that cannot attend, or cannot secure a spot in this edition, rest assured we will repeat this section.”
Film Champaign-Urbana is collaborating with Bokeh Casting to create a database of background actors in Champaign County. The event is full with 80 expected attendees and a waitlist.
“With the development of soundstages in Rantoul and an active group of local filmmakers and production companies, the film industry continues to grow in our community. Ensuring the infrastructure is in place for large productions is critical to making a significant impact on our local economy,” explains Mark Brown, Director of Event Services & Film for Experience Champaign-Urbana.
