SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) – Governor JB Pritzker has declared March 19, 2025 as Illinois Agriculture Trade Day.
The day recognizes the giant positive impact that agriculture trade makes to state’s economy, farmers, and communities. Illinois Agriculture Trade Day honors Illinois farmers and producers in the role they play in feeding the world. Illinois agriculture are a central driver of the economy, coming in as number one in the U.S. for the production of soybeans, pumpkins and horseradish; No. 2 in corn; No. 4 in hogs and No. 10 in wheat.
Illinois stands as the largest exporting state in the Midwest with exports in 2023 totaling at $13.7 billion. The exports provide support to Illinois’ rural communities, generating jobs, driving innovation, and connecting local producers to global markets.
