URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – The Cunningham’s Children’s Home is celebrating this year’s Festival of Quilts.

The festival converts Cunningham’s Spiritual Life Center into a gallery of color and quilts, and also serves as their signature fundraiser. It celebrates generosity, creativity, and helping to change the lives of over 900 youth and families Cunningham serves. This year’s festival honors Cunningham’s President and CEO, Marlin Livingston, who wears the quilt Quilt of Valor, presented by the local Quilt of Valor group, Stars Over Champaign.

The quilt recognizes marlin’s 23 years of service in the United States Army National Guard and his deployment in the Iraq War, for which he was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal in 2007. Marlin has served the community for the past 35 years in child welfare, leading Cunningham since 2008. The festival also celebrates their youth and hard work.

The festival has over 300 quilts for sale, each one telling its very own story.
