CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The University of Illinois Extension is hosting a free, two-part, digital series designed to help older adults use the internet and social media.

These sessions will be held at the Champaign County Public library’s Robeson Pavilion Room C, located at 200 W Green St, Champaign, IL 61820. This series can be used by people new to digital technology or those looking to enhance their online experience. It features step-by-step instructions in a supportive environment. A digital literacy expert will also be on hand to provide answers to questions and one-on-one assistance.

Here are the sessions and its descriptors:

  • Session 1: Exploring the Internet

    • Date & Time: Tuesday, May 13 | 11:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m.

    • Description: Learn the basics of using the internet safely and effectively—from browsing websites to using search engines.

  • Session 2: Social Media Basics

    • Date & Time: Thursday, May 15 | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

    • Description: Get an introduction to popular social media platforms and learn how to connect with friends and family online.
