CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Experience Champaign-Urbana (ECU) Foundation is hosting their next community tour of the Champaign County African American Heritage Bus Tour.
The tour takes place on Friday, June 13, to celebrate Juneteenth. The tour gives participants an opportunity to explore significant African American landmarks in the region, with stories, landmarks, and contributions in the community. The ECU is partnering with The Family Room, a non-profit organization serving families with foster children or children in transition to provide care packs, clean clothes, and other necessities.
During the tour, the ECU Foundation will be asking for new or gently used shoe donations. The tour is held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., starting and returning to the Champaign Douglass Center. It is recommended to ages 7+ and reservations are required at ccafricanamericanheritage.org/community-tours.
