CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) YMCA is hosting its 22nd Annual Dump & Run Garage Sale hosted at the UIUC Stock Pavillion.

The Dump & Run Recycling Program Big Sale is an event at where individuals can pick up unwanted goods donated by local community members taking place on Saturday, August 24 from 8:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday, August 25 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Participants have to pay a $4 admission fee on Saturday, but UIUC and Parkland College students may present a student ID for free entry. Sunday will have free admission with a $3 bag sale and half-price furniture. At 2:30pm, all items will be free for the taking.

“Dump & Run’s Big Sale always offers plenty of electronics, furniture, books, clothing, bicycles, as well as a wide variety of kitchen and household goods. This program keeps over 30 tons of unwanted goods out of Champaign-Urbana’s dumpsters and landfills each year,” said the University YMCA in a press release.

The proceeds will go to the University YMCA and its Student Board. Volunteers work with YMCA staff in the retrieval, sorting, and pricing of each individual item. Dump & Run rely completely on its volunteers to run its event with 67 volunteers contributing almost 500 hours so far. Volunteers are still needed for Saturday and Sunday.
