CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Film Champaign-Urbana will be hosting their workshop “So You Want to be a Film Artist?” focusing on the film industry targeted towards local artists.

“So You Want to be a Film Artist?” is a workshop designed to help local artists understand the process of how productions work and what these people need to know to be successful to license their work in film. The workshop will be co-hosted by the talents of 40 North, Flyover Film Studios, Shatterglass Films, and The Line Film Co. It will take place on Thursday, August 29 at 5:30pm to 6:30p.m at the Champaign Public Library.

“We are excited to work with Film Champaign-Urbana to expand the understanding of what it means to bring production work to the area and to recruit local artists to license their work for use in film,” said Jennifer Shelby, co-owner of Shatterglass Films.

Film Champaign-Urbana and 40 North are also seeking to create a database with artists to provide productions with their local needs. Film Champaign-Urbana elaborates that all types of mediums of art, whether it be visual or audible, are vital to productions whether it be a short film, a documentary, a music video, or even a feature-length film.

Due to limited space, Film Champaign-Urbana encourages RSVPs at experiencecu.org. Reserve your spot before it’s too late!
