DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – 47-year-old Danville man, Nathan Hendriex was recently found guilty for two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault of a minor.
During Hendriex’s hearing, a detective with the Danville Police Department Criminal Investigations, with the assistance of Vermilion County Child Advocacy Center, uncovered the harrowing story of Hendriex and the victim through conducted interviews. The defendant had been dating the minor victim’s mother at the time and was living in their family home for a period of time. Hendriex, on the day of the incident, lured the victim into a room and forced them to undress. He then forcibly proceeded to engage in sexual intercourse with the underaged victim.
Hendriex then told the victim not to tell anybody about the assault. The Danville Police received reports of the assault in 2022. He has laid out a detailed confession to his crimes and pleaded guilty at a at a contested sentencing hearing to two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, both of which are class 1 felonies. Hendriex was ultimately sentenced to a total of 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, which will be served at 85%. He will then serve a mandatory supervised release from 3 years to natural life.
“I would like to acknowledge the bravery of the victim in coming forward about the sexual assault at the hands of a trusted adult. The cruel manipulation of trust displayed by sexual predators is horrendous. It is my hope that the sentence handed down in this case will allow the victim time to begin their road to healing,” said State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy.
