SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) – Governor J.B. Pritzker announced today that the 2024 Illinois State Fair hit record numbers of attendance again under the Pritzker administration for the fourth time.

The Illinois State Fair is an annual festival with a variety of attractions such as agricultural exhibits, rides, concerts, games, competitions, and a variety of food vendors. It is hosted in Springfield and has been held every single year since 1853. Pritzker announced that the attendance broke records with over 773,000 people attending the 11-day event exceeding 2023’s attendance numbers by almost 66,000. This was the highest number of attendees since industry standards were enacted.

“Grandstand artists like the Jonas Brothers, Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert drew big crowds. We were especially excited to have Lil Wayne break the Grandstand attendance record by selling more than 15,000 tickets,” said Governor Pritzker.

One of the highlights was a naturalization ceremony where Pritzker welcomed almost 200 new citizens from 49 countries to the United States and finalize their U.S. citizenship. Some more highlights were the horse races, tractor pulls, an entire circus, rodeo, and demolition derby. With the new attendance, carnival sales were much larger than sales in 2023.
