CHICAGO, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois companies announced 781 mass layoffs in September coming from Chicago, Danville, and other cities.
Illinois workers across the state are being hit with mass layoffs with over a quarter being attributed to a Chicago Amazon Fulfillment Center according to Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification reports.

- McCook: 161 layoffs from Marquee Event Group, Inc.
- Aurora: 106 layoffs from DHL Supply Chain
- Robinson: 75 layoffs from Midwest Transport, Inc.
- Rockford: 69 layoffs from Genuine Parts Company
- Danville: 40 layoffs from Community Development Institute Head Start
Cook County also saw 372 layoffs. Employers in Illinois are required to file monthly mass layoff reports under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
