CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a recent theft and credit card fraud case.

On September 30 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a wallet was stolen from a victim’s purse while they were dining at the Olive Garden on 30 East Anthony Drive. According to police reports, the suspects briefly sat at a table near the victim. The suspects, then, got up to leave and bumped into the victim’s chair. Shortly after, the victim started receiving phone alerts indicating that her credit cards were being used for large purchases at Sam’s Club and Target.

These purchases ending up totaling at $5,000 in fraudulent transactions. The police are requesting assistance in finding the perpetrators. Their appearances were captured on surveillance video and are described as follows: A black female wearing a white hat, a gray sweatshirt with stripes running over the shoulders and down the sleeves, and jeans. A light-skinned black male wearing a green jacket, a light-colored shirt, and jeans.
