CHICAGO, IL (Chambana Today) – A law will be put into effect on January 1, 2025 will change policies based on reproductive rights.
The law, known as Public Act 103-0785, aims to prevent discrimination based on a person’s reproductive health decisions. This includes areas such as fertility care and abortion. The law expands its protections in regards to employment, housing, financial credit, and public accommodations. It extends the existing protections under the Illinois Human rights Act.
The law encompasses a broad range of reproductive health decisions, including assisted reproductive technologies, prenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care, abortion, birth control, fertility or sterilization care, and miscarriage management care.
