24th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Countywide Celebration date announced

The celebration takes place at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and doors will open at 4:00 p.m. and the events 5:00 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Reverend Dr. Claude E. Shelby, Sr., Pastor Emeritus at Salem Baptist Church.

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The MLK Countywide Committee and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Advocacy for Justice Committee recently announced the recipients of the awards honored at the 24th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Countywide Celebration.

The celebration will take place on January 19, 2025 and recognizes individuals who uphold the Principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The recipients are Tracy Dace, who will receive the James R. Burgess/Susan Freiburg Humanitarian Award, Donna Tanner-Harold who will be honored with the Doris Hoskins Prestigious Community Service Award, and Terry Townsend who will be awarded the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Outstanding Achievement Award.
