CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a shooting.

This took place on December 10, 2024 at approximately 8:54 p.m. and deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of Dobbins Drive. Deputies rushed to the scene and discovered the male victim, Alvin Parker. Upon arrival, Parker was revealed to have a gunshot wound. Deputies and medical personnel attempted lifesaving actions, but Parker succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. This incident is actively being investigated and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office requests individuals with cameras or video in the area to come forward.
