CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Martinelli’s Market presents its 16th annual Prom Benefit Hunger Relief for Eastern Illinois Foodbank with our very own Tommy Bickham of MIX 94.5 FM in attendance.
The event aims to raise 375,000 meals for food-insecure individuals and families and takes place on Saturday, March 1 at the I Hotel & Conference Center from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. These meals will be distributed across the Foodbank’s 18-county service territory. It is more important than ever to support the Foodbank, with local pantries serving 90% more people today than in 2022. The Prom Benefit was founded in 2008 by Lorianne Bauer and is managed by the Foodbank and a committee of community members.
The annual event brings people together to re-experience the magic of prom while fighting hunger and helping those in need. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras, which “…gives attendees the opportunity to enjoy a night of honky-tonk fun for a good cause,” according to a press release from the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. The Illini Media Group’s own Tommy Bickham will be attending to participate in this year’s Harrington Law Prom Court.
The male and female candidate who raises the most money for the Foodbank will be crowned the night of the event, so don’t forget to donate! Donations to their campaigns can be made online at eifoodbank.org/prom through Friday, February 28. Early bird tickets can be purchased on the website through Friday, January 31 and regular tickets are available for $150 from Saturday, February 1 to Thursday, February 20 or until sold out.
Good luck out there Tommy!
