The Danville School District has launched a new initiative to support families experiencing hardships, including homelessness. A brand-new laundry room, located inside Mark Denman Elementary School, is now available for families in need, offering free access to washing and drying facilities to help students attend school with clean clothes.

On March 11, UPD officers responded to reports of an armed subject at the 1100 block of East Florida Avenue. The officers found the suspect who began fleeing on foot. Coffee With a Cop is a community engagement initiative hosted by the CPD. The event allows members of the community to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know officers in the community with no agendas or speeches. It is designed to bring officers and community members together in a relaxed informal setting over a cup of coffee. The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
